GelTex, a pharmaceutical company, kept its business needs in mind and came up with the following domain structure.
The management team at GelTex realized that they may need to share sensitive information about the company only with its employees and not with its partners. Similarly, information that was useful for partners was not always relevant to its own employees. GelTex therefore opted to have two separate domains – Company and Partners. All internal departments of GelTex – Operations, Marketing, and Sales, fell under the domain called Company, while all business associates of GelTex fell under a different domain called Partners.
This way, GelTex ensured the proper and smooth functioning of both, its internal departments as well as its partners.
